by Sarah Sarsby 08 April 2022

In today’s review, I’m going to share my unbiased thoughts on 4 skincare products from global brand Project E Beauty.

The brand has very kindly sent me 4 skincare goodies to try. And, you know I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you! After getting on really well with the brand’s LED light therapy face and neck mask for the first time, I was super excited to try my new products.

My skincare collection is seriously booming at the minute. Like, seriously. I’ve tried so many new products in the past few months and found some serious holy grails. So I’m sure you’re wondering whether any of these Project E Beauty products fall into my must-have category.

To learn more about Project E Beauty, the products I received, and whether these products need to make it onto your skincare shelfie right now, keep reading.

What is Project E Beauty?

Project E Beauty is a global skincare company selling a wide range of devices and products that are designed for all genders. It aims to provide trustworthy and effective skincare products to suit a wide range of needs. Some of the devices available from Project E Beauty include LED light therapy treatments, laser hair removal gadgets, cleansing brushes, and derma rollers.

Skincare products I was gifted

I was kindly sent the following 4 Project E Beauty products to review:

  1. Intensive Eye Repair Essence
  2. Nourishing Facial Moisturizer
  3. Hydrating Facial Toner
  4. Enrich Foaming Wash

Let’s take a look at the product claims, ingredients, and my individual experience with each of these products below.

  1. Project E Beauty Intensive Eye Repair Essence for 50ml

Intensive Eye Repair Essence

Project E Beauty Intensive Eye Repair Essence claims

The Project E Beauty Intensive Eye Repair Essence promises to reduce visible signs of ageing around the eye area, as well as dark circles and puffiness. With a cool, refreshing gel formula, this eye treatment promises to deliver long-lasting hydration to tired eyes for a rejuvenated look.

Key ingredients of Project E Beauty Intensive Eye Repair Essence

Excluding water, the top 5 ingredients in the INCI list are:

  • Glycerin: has hydrating properties
  • Butanediol: helps hydrate the skin and enhance a product’s texture
  • Hyaluronic acid: hydrates the skin
  • Small molecule active peptide: I’m not sure how this differs from other peptides tbh
  • Argireline: a peptide with water-binding properties and skin-restoring abilities

See the full INCI list below:

Water(Aqua), Glycerin, Butanediol, Hyaluronic Acid, Small Molecule Active Peptide, Argireline, Arnica Extract

My thoughts

Let’s start with what I like about the Project E Beauty Intensive Eye Repair Essence

The formula is very refreshing and cooling. In the morning, when my eyes are tired (which is always, lol, hello adulthood), this eye essence is a welcome treat, as I instantly feel invigorated. I often don’t get a good night’s sleep, so this cooling sensation is truly lovely in the morning. I also think this eye essence delivers some hydration throughout the day.

I’m not so keen on the formula. It’s very runny, so this product often runs down my face when I apply it to my under eyes. I have to work really quickly for the product to absorb, and even then, the essence is still prone to dripping down my face a bit. I’d prefer if this had a serum-like texture, so the product stays in place when I apply it.

I’ve personally not noticed any improvement to puffiness, fine lines, wrinkles or dark circles since using this eye essence. Although, in fairness, I’ve only ever used one eye product that genuinely helps brighten my eye area.

Rating: 3 stars

This isn’t a bad product by any means, but it’s not been a game-changer for me.

  1. Project E Beauty Nourishing Facial Moisturizer 50g

Nourishing Facial Moisturizer

Project E Beauty Nourishing Facial Moisturizer claims

The Project E Beauty Nourishing Facial Moisturizer claims to provide intense hydration that helps to fill in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It promises to keep your skin looking healthy and young with daily use, while restoring moisture for smoother and plumper skin.

Project E Beauty says that this cream can further make the skin look more radiant and boost elasticity. It also claims to be absorbent and suitable for all skin types.

Key ingredients of Project E Beauty Nourishing Facial Moisturizer

Excluding water, the top 5 ingredients in the INCI list are:

  • Glycerin: has hydrating properties
  • Caprylic/capric triglyceride: an emollient (softens and soothes skin) with beneficial fatty acids that help skin resist moisture loss
  • Squalane: a very popular emollient and antioxidant that helps strengthen the skin’s barrier
  • Isononyl isononanoate: an emollient
  • Ethylhexyl palmitate: an emollient that helps other ingredients more easily penetrate the skin

See the full INCI list below:

Aqua, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, Isononyl Isononanoate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Erythritol, Polyacrylamide/C13-14 Isoparaffin/Laureth-7, Propylene Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lophatherum Gracile Extract, Scutellaria Barbata Extract, Cnidium Monnieri Fruit Extract, Kochia Scoparia Fruit Extract, Andrographis Paniculata Extract, Albizia Julibrissin Bark Extract, Vaccaria Segetalis Extract, Propylene Glycol / Diazolidinyl Urea/ Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aroma

My thoughts

I’m a sucker for a good moisturiser, and the Project E Beauty Nourishing Facial Moisturizer has been a hit so far.

This moisturiser has a rich, silky texture, but once applied to the skin, feels almost more like a gel, as it absorbs very quickly and easily. It feels super lightweight on my skin, which I adore. Nobody wants to feel like they’re wearing a greasy, slippery moisturiser that just sits on top of their skin!

I definitely agree that this moisturiser delivers hydration and nourishment all day. There’s a wonderful smoothing element to this moisturiser as well. If I wear this before applying makeup, I know I’m going to have a great base day.

I’ve not noticed any anti-ageing benefits. But at 26, it’s not like I’ve got many fine lines or wrinkles anyway, so I’m probably not the best person to measure these benefits. And, I’d rather use a serum to target anti-ageing than buy a moisturiser anyway.

This moisturiser is scented. It’s not strong, but there’s a subtle sweet fragrance. I love it! The scent doesn’t linger on my skin after applying the cream, though, so don’t worry if you hate fragrance that sticks around.

Rating: 4 stars

I’m enjoying using this moisturiser so far. It makes my skin feel moisturised, soft and smooth.

  1. Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner 120ml

Hydrating Facial Toner

Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner claims

The Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner claims to replenish and nourish skin with powerful humectant properties to deliver long-lasting hydration. It promises to calm the skin and reduce redness and irritation. The brand says the toner is suitable for all skin types and boasts a lightweight texture.

Key ingredients of Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner

Excluding water, the top 5 ingredients in the INCI list are:

  • Glycerin: has hydrating properties
  • Butylene glycol: helps hydrate the skin and enhance a product’s texture
  • Erythritol: a humectant (retains or preserves moisture)
  • Caprylhydroxamic acid: helps stabilise certain formulae
  • Glyceryl caprylate: an emollient with strong antimicrobial properties

See the full INCI list below:

Aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol, erythritol, caprylhydroxamic acid, glyceryl caprylate, pentylene glycol, allantoin, methylparaben peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium hyaluronate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, aroma

My thoughts

I love the Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner. This is honestly such a treat for the skin.

After dampening a reusable cotton pad (eco-friendly cotton pads all the way!) with the toner, I gently sweep this all over my face. My skin immediately feels soothed, calm, hydrated and refreshed. Instantly, my skin is nourished and invigorated. I look forward to using this moisturising toner every morning, as it makes a big difference to my skin.

Out of the 4 products Project E Beauty sent me, this one is the most heavily fragranced. It has a strong, sweet scent that you can smell as soon as you twist the cap off. I think the gorgeous fragrance really adds to my morning skincare routine. The scent disappears after a few minutes of applying it.

The toner also feels lovely and lightweight on the skin, while somehow feeling creamy. It’s an intriguing mix. And I’m here for it. Yassss give me all that dewy, nourishing goodness!

Rating: 4.5 stars

For all of my fellow hydration obsessives, I’m sure you’ll be a big fan of the Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner.

  1. Project E Beauty Enrich Foaming Wash 150ml

Enrich Foaming Wash

Project E Beauty Enrich Foaming Wash claims

The Project E Beauty Enrich Foaming Wash promises to easily remove dirt, excess oil, and makeup. It claims to be gentle without stripping the skin, while maintaining the skin’s natural protective barrier. This cleanser is supposed to leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed and calm, not dry. Project E Beauty says the face wash is suitable for all skin types.

Key ingredients of Project E Beauty Enrich Foaming Wash

Excluding water, the top 5 ingredients in the INCI list are:

  • Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES): a cleansing agent that produces a foaming/lathering effect
  • Sodium cocoyl glycinate: a cleansing agent with a creamy lather feeling
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine: a gentle cleansing agent with a foaming/lathering effect
  • Glycerin: has hydrating properties
  • Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS): a cleansing agent that’s widely known to have a sensitising effect and irritate the skin

See the full INCI list below:

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamide Dea, Citric Acid, Aroma, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Disodium Edta

My thoughts

I’m just going to be honest here and say that I’m not a fan of the Project E Beauty Enrich Foaming Wash.

It contains sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which is automatically a big no for me. SLS is a widely known skin irritant and sensitising cleansing agent. This means your skin will likely feel stripped and sensitive if you use a product with SLS in it.

Unfortunately, this was the case for me when using this cleanser. My skin felt quite tight and ‘squeaky clean’, which isn’t a great skin response after using a cleanser. I don’t think this face wash meets the claims of being gentle and non-stripping, as from the inclusion of SLS alone, this is counterintuitive.

It’s a shame, as some of the ingredients are really nice. I love glycerin, for example! In terms of effectively removing dirt, makeup and excess oil, this cleanser does work to an extent, but it feels too stripping.

Rating: 2 stars

I’m not a fan of this product.

Overall review of these Project E Beauty products

Overall, my Project E Beauty experience is positive. The eye essence isn’t my favourite, and I’m really not a fan of the cleanser, but I really like the moisturiser, and I love the toner.

All 4 products contain glycerin, which is fab. Glycerin is a fantastic hydrating ingredient, and my skin gets on really well with it. Plus, I’ve got a hydration obsession at the minute (don’t we all?!), so glycerin is right up my street. If you’re after #dewyskingoals, you’ll vibe with Project E Beauty’s moisturiser and toner in particular.

While these products aren’t really high-end, such as brands like Augustinus Bader, Chantecaille or Dr. Barbara Sturm, they’re still on the pricier side. But, as always, affordability is subjective. I’d be happy to purchase the moisturiser and toner with my own money.

Favorite Project E Beauty product?

The Project E Beauty Hydrating Facial Toner. I absolutely love it!
